Zee Entertainment filed its June 2025 investor presentation with the stock exchanges, outlining its strategy in a consolidating TV market that is moving toward a duopoly. Zee holds 17% TV viewership share versus Peer-1's 34%, which has been backed by a parent with INR 2 lakh crore+ market cap and an INR 12,000 crore cash infusion. Zee reported FY25 revenue of INR 8,294 crore and EBITDA of INR 1,196 crore (14.4% margin), making it the most profitable network despite being smaller than Peer-1. Key FY26 priorities include achieving ZEE5 OTT breakeven from current INR 548 crore losses, expanding into new verticals like micro-dramas and live events, and pursuing inorganic growth. Promoters are infusing INR 2,237 crore via convertible warrants at INR 132 per share, taking their post-conversion stake to 18.39%, subject to EGM approval on July 10.
The promoter warrant issue is a strong vote of confidence and strengthens Zee's balance sheet to compete against a much larger, cash-rich rival. For shareholders, the key things to track are ZEE5's path to breakeven, the 3-year profitability targets (surpassing the FY19 high EPS of 16.5), and any acquisition announcements that could accelerate growth.
