Triveni Engineering & Industries reported FY25 consolidated revenue of ₹5,689.2 crore, up 9% year-on-year, driven by growth in Sugar, Alcohol and Power Transmission businesses. However, profit before tax fell sharply by 38.7% to ₹324.2 crore and profit after tax declined 39.7% to ₹238.3 crore, with EBITDA margin compressing to 9.4% from 13.2% last year. The Sugar business was hit by lower sugarcane recovery and higher costs, while the Alcohol business saw profits plunge 78% due to low-margin maize operations and feedstock shortages. In contrast, the Power Transmission business delivered record results with revenue up 26.8% and PBIT up 18.4%, backed by ₹475.4 crore in order bookings. The Water business also posted strong order bookings of ₹586.2 crore, taking its closing order book to ₹1,600.8 crore, up 30.8%. The Board recommended a final dividend of ₹2.50 per share.
Shareholders see a mixed picture: top-line growth was healthy but profitability took a big hit from sugar and alcohol headwinds, while engineering businesses (Power Transmission and Water) showed strong momentum. The pending composite scheme (amalgamation with SSEL and demerger of Power Transmission) could be a near-term value-unlock trigger, though rising debt and weak segment margins in core businesses remain concerns.
