IRFC shares in focus as OFS worth Rs 2,212 crore opens for retail investors today. Here’s all you need to know

The government launched an Offer for Sale (OFS) in Indian Railways Finance Corporation (IRFC) worth Rs 2,212 crore, with the non-retail portion getting subscribed 1.86 times on day one, prompting exercise of the greenshoe option for a total 1.86% stake sale. IRFC shares fell over 6% on the OFS opening day and are down 27% year-to-date in 2026. The government held nearly 85% stake in IRFC as of March 31, 2026, while IRFC reported flat Q4 FY26 net profit of Rs 1,684 crore on 9% revenue growth to Rs 7,336 crore.
