Is your SIP giving FIIs an easy exit? AMFI CEO says mutual funds will actually lure them back

AMFI CEO Venkat N. Chalasani argues that domestic mutual fund flows absorbing FII exits demonstrate market maturity rather than providing an easy exit for foreign investors, and that this liquidity depth will ultimately lure FIIs back. India's mutual fund AUM-to-GDP ratio currently stands at 20–21% against a global average of 65%, with AMFI targeting 10 crore investors and AUM of around Rs 150 lakh crore by 2030. More than 55% of SIP accounts now originate from B-30 cities, and a SEBI survey shows 53% of Indian households are aware of mutual funds but only 6% have invested, underscoring the industry's runway.
