IT rally powers markets over 1%; Sensex, Nifty end week with marginal losses

Indian markets rallied over 1 percent on Friday with the Nifty 50 climbing 244.1 points to 24,206.9 and the Sensex gaining 827.57 points to 77,569.39, led by an IT sector rally. Despite the strong Friday close, both indices ended the week marginally lower by around 0.3 percent. Brent crude futures traded above 76 dollars a barrel after spiking near 80 dollars on Wednesday, keeping investors watchful of geopolitical risk premiums.
