ITI Limited, a Government of India PSU and telecom manufacturing company, has secured a work order worth Rs. 72.76 Crores from the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Lahaul & Spiti, to build an Ice-Hockey Rink facility at Kaza Soma in Himachal Pradesh at an altitude of about 12,000 feet. The scope includes constructing a full-fledged Ice-Hockey Rink along with a 500-kW solar power backup system, CCTV cameras, lighting, and associated accessories. The project is part of the government's High-Altitude Sports Training Centre scheme aimed at promoting winter sports and sports tourism in the Spiti Valley. This is a diversification beyond ITI's traditional telecom manufacturing into turnkey infrastructure and sports projects.
This is a modest positive order win that adds Rs. 72.76 Crores to ITI's order book and signals continued diversification into non-telecom infrastructure projects.
