Jammu & Kashmir Bank reported net profit of Rs 2,363.47 crore for FY2026, up 13.5% from Rs 2,082.46 crore in the previous year. Total income grew to Rs 16,085 crore from Rs 15,205 crore. EPS improved significantly to Rs 7.24 from Rs 5.33. The bank saw strong loan growth with advances rising 17.7% to Rs 1,22,641 crore, while deposits grew 11.3% to Rs 1,65,354 crore. Asset quality improved notably with gross NPA ratio declining from 3.37% to 2.50% and net NPA ratio from 0.79% to 0.64%. Capital adequacy strengthened with CET1 ratio at 13.54%. The auditors issued unqualified opinions but drew attention to a Rs 228.65 crore impairment provision on the Rs 345.92 crore investment in associate J&K Grameen Bank.
The bank demonstrated healthy growth in profitability and improved asset quality, which is positive for shareholders. However, auditors flagged significant impairment on the J&K Grameen Bank investment and DTA recognition based on assumptions about future NPA write-offs, which investors should monitor for potential impact on future earnings.
