Jammu & Kashmir Bank reported strong profit growth with net profit rising 13.5% to Rs. 2,363.47 crore for FY 2025-26. Q4 net profit jumped 36.5% to Rs. 797.81 crore. Deposits grew 11% to Rs. 1.65 lakh crore while advances surged 18% to Rs. 1.23 lakh crore. Asset quality improved significantly with gross NPA falling to 2.50% from 3.37% and net NPA at 0.64%. However, Net Interest Margin compressed to 3.60% from 3.92% due to lower yield on advances (8.98% vs 9.56%). EPS improved to Rs. 21.49 from Rs. 18.91. Capital adequacy strengthened to 16.55% and cost-to-income ratio improved to 56.18% from 57.69%.
Strong earnings growth and improved asset quality are positives, but declining NIM indicates margin pressure which could limit future profitability gains. The bank's geographic concentration in J&K (83% of deposits) remains a key risk factor.
