J&K Bank submitted its investor presentation for the Q1 FY2025-26 results conference call scheduled for July 28, 2025. The bank reported a net profit of ₹484.84 crore, up 16.7% year-on-year from ₹415.49 crore. Total deposits grew 12.1% to ₹1,48,542 crore and net advances rose 6.1% to ₹1,01,230 crore. Asset quality improved with GNPA falling to 3.50% from 3.91% YoY, and capital position strengthened with CRAR at 15.98% (up from 15.07%). However, net interest margin (NIM) compressed to 3.72% from 3.86% YoY as the cost of deposits rose from 4.66% to 4.83%. Return on assets improved to 1.17% from 1.08%.
Strong profit growth and improving asset quality are positives for shareholders, but NIM compression signals margin pressure that may concern investors. The stock reaction will likely depend on management's commentary during the July 28 call addressing the falling NIM and the path forward.
