J&K Bank reported provisional Q1 FY26 (Apr-Jun 2025) business figures showing total business of ₹2,49,784 crore, up 9.54% year-on-year from ₹2,28,023 crore in Q1 FY25. Total deposits grew 12.05% YoY to ₹1,48,542 crore, while gross advances rose 5.54% YoY to ₹1,04,040 crore. However, the share of low-cost CASA deposits dropped sharply by 406 basis points to 45.71% from 49.77% a year ago, signalling customers are shifting toward term/fixed deposits. Gross investments surged 27.55% YoY to ₹43,311 crore. All figures are unaudited and subject to review.
Solid double-digit deposit growth and a nearly 10% rise in total business point to healthy franchise expansion, which is positive for shareholders. However, the sharp fall in the CASA ratio suggests higher interest costs as the bank relies more on pricier term deposits, which could squeeze net interest margins in coming quarters.
