Jammu & Kashmir Bank reported net profit of Rs. 2,363.47 Crores for FY26, up 13.5% from Rs. 2,082.46 Crores in FY25. Total income grew to Rs. 14,065.05 Crores from Rs. 13,666.22 Crores. EPS improved to Rs. 7.24 from Rs. 5.33. Asset quality improved with gross NPA ratio declining to 2.50% from 3.37%, and net NPA ratio falling to 0.64% from 0.79%. Total assets reached Rs. 1,89,193.99 Crores. Capital adequacy remains strong at 16.41% with CET1 ratio of 13.38%. The bank has an investment of Rs. 345.92 Crores in associate J&K Grameen Bank, against which it has recognized impairment provision of Rs. 228.65 Crores based on RBI valuation.
Positive earnings growth and improved asset quality are encouraging, but shareholders should note auditor emphasis on the Rs. 228.65 Crores impairment on J&K Grameen Bank investment, a prior period reserve adjustment of Rs. 23.94 Crores from C&AG audit, and uncertainty around Deferred Tax Asset recognition.
