Jagran Prakashan Ltd reported standalone revenue of Rs 1,589.84 crore for FY26, down from Rs 1,888.13 crore in FY25, representing approximately 16% revenue decline. However, standalone profit after tax improved significantly to Rs 184.93 crore from Rs 130.93 crore in the prior year, marking a 41% PAT growth driven by cost optimization and lower finance costs. The auditor issued an unmodified opinion with an Emphasis of Matter highlighting ongoing promoter disputes - a petition filed under Sections 241, 242, 244 of Companies Act by certain promoters against others, pending at NCLT. The company also has an EGM scheduled for May 29, 2026 for removal of 8 directors, with implementation stayed by NCLAT. EBITDA margin improved from 14.08% to 19.32%. An impairment loss of Rs 750 lakh was recorded for subsidiary Midday Infomedia.
Revenue declined 16% but PAT grew 41%, indicating improved profitability. The promoter dispute remains a governance concern but management expects no adverse financial impact. Strong dividend payout of Rs 10 per share (500%) signals confidence.
