Jagran Prakashan has disclosed a follow-up on the NCLT Allahabad Bench proceedings in the case 'Mahendra Mohan Gupta & Ors. vs Devendra Mohan Gupta & Ors.', filed under Sections 241/242 and 244 of the Companies Act, 2013 (oppression and mismanagement). The Tribunal heard applications CA No.04/2026, CA No.05/2026 and CA No.06/2026 at length and reserved its order. The requisition dated 12.02.2026 seeking to convene an Extraordinary General Meeting of the company will continue to remain in abeyance and is subject to the final decision in these applications. The next hearing is scheduled for 16th April 2026 at 2:30 p.m. The company has stated it will share further updates only on any material development.
This is a continuation of the long-running promoter family dispute at Jagran Prakashan and is not a final ruling. The EGM cannot be held until the NCLT decides, meaning any shareholder moves to change board composition or trigger corporate actions remain on hold. Near-term, this maintains status quo without triggering a sharp share price reaction, but the overhang of family litigation continues.
