Jagran Prakashan submitted its Q3FY26 investor presentation to the exchanges. Consolidated operating revenue for Q3FY26 fell 8% year-on-year to Rs. 476.7 crores, and operating profit dropped 24% to Rs. 71.4 crores, with operating margin contracting from 18.1% to 15.0%. However, nine-month profit after tax grew 23% to Rs. 178.9 crores on the back of strong earlier quarters. Print advertisement revenue moderated because the festive season started early and spread across Q2 and Q3, though it still grew 5% on a year-on-year basis for nine months. Management highlighted ongoing initiatives to revive circulation, cost discipline at Mid-Day, and digital investments, while flagging better outlook from lower newsprint costs. The group holds net cash of over Rs. 1,000 crores and has returned about Rs. 1,900 crores to shareholders through dividends and buybacks.
The weak Q3 print and margin contraction may weigh on short-term sentiment, but strong nine-month earnings growth, a debt-free balance sheet with Rs. 1,000+ crores net cash, and management's guidance on circulation recovery and cost discipline offer support for the stock over the medium term.
