Jagran Prakashan Limited has submitted its Q1 FY26 (quarter ended June 30, 2025) unaudited standalone and consolidated financial results, approved by the Board on July 29, 2025 and reviewed by statutory auditor Price Waterhouse Chartered Accountants LLP. On a standalone basis, revenue from operations fell to about Rs. 39,813 lakhs from Rs. 41,063 lakhs in the same quarter last year, a decline of roughly 3%, while standalone profit after tax (PAT) rose to Rs. 7,135 lakhs from Rs. 6,009 lakhs (up about 19%). On a consolidated basis, revenue declined to Rs. 46,005 lakhs from Rs. 48,100 lakhs, but PAT swung from a loss of Rs. 5,146 lakhs to a profit of Rs. 6,676 lakhs, mainly because the year-ago quarter carried a large one-time impairment charge of Rs. 13,035 lakhs on the radio business. The auditor gave an unmodified limited review report, but highlighted an ongoing National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) petition among promoter group members as an emphasis-of-matter note, with management stating it does not expect any material impact on the company. An interim dividend of Rs. 6 per equity share (300% on face value) was paid during the quarter.
Mixed picture for shareholders: the top line continues to shrink in both standalone and consolidated terms, signalling pressure on the core print and advertising business, while the bottom line is propped up by the absence of last year's hefty impairment rather than strong operating growth. The unresolved promoter-family dispute at NCLT remains a key governance overhang to watch, though the company currently expects no financial impact.
