The Board of James Warren Tea approved the unaudited financial results for Q1 FY26 (quarter ended 30 June 2025). Revenue from operations stood at ₹2,604.51 lakhs, down from ₹3,089.25 lakhs in the same quarter last year, a decline of roughly 15.7%. Profit for the quarter also fell sharply compared to Q1 FY25, with basic EPS dropping from about ₹118.45 to around ₹26.2 per share. The statutory auditors, B. Chhawchharia & Co., issued a clean limited review report with no qualifications. The Board also approved the notice for the 16th Annual General Meeting scheduled for 11 September 2025, with the register of members to be closed from 5 to 11 September 2025. The company noted that the tea industry is seasonal, so Q1 figures should not be taken as indicative of the full year.
Lower year-on-year revenue and profit signal weak Q1 performance for shareholders, though management flags the seasonal nature of the tea business. No red flags from auditors, but investors should watch for recovery in the coming quarters before drawing full-year conclusions.
