James Warren Tea's Board approved audited financial results for Q4 and FY ending 31st March 2025. The company reported a Profit Before Tax of Rs. 10,398.86 lakhs for FY25, a massive jump from Rs. 151.85 lakhs in FY24, largely driven by exceptional items — profit on sale of Dhoedaam Tea Estate (Rs. 55.95 crore) and Rajah Alli Tea Estate (Rs. 14.79 crore), together totalling about Rs. 70.74 crore. Total equity more than doubled to Rs. 18,778.52 lakhs from Rs. 8,597.39 lakhs, and operating cash flow swung positive to Rs. 2,478.79 lakhs (from negative Rs. 1,562.31 lakhs last year). Statutory auditors B. Chhawchharia & Co. issued an un-modified (clean) opinion. The Board also re-appointed Mr. Sandip Das as Whole-time Director for one year from 25 July 2025 and appointed Mr. Santosh Kumar Tibrewalla as Secretarial Auditor for five years (FY26–FY30), both subject to shareholder approval.
The headline profit jump is largely a one-time gain from tea estate sales rather than recurring business growth, so shareholders should look past the headline PAT number. Cleaner balance sheet, positive operating cash flow, and stable governance (auditor re-appointments) are mildly positive signals.
