Jane Street, TSMC-Linked AI Startup Etched Raises $800 M

US-based AI chip startup Etched has raised a total of $800 million across funding rounds, with Jane Street investing over $100 million cumulatively. Founded in 2022, Etched designs AI chips and has signed sales contracts worth $1 billion, planning to ship to customers this summer. Prominent backers include Peter Thiel, Geoffrey Hinton, Fei-Fei Li, and Stanley Druckenmiller.
