Jayaswal Neco Industries Limited's Board has approved setting up a new 1.50 MnTPA Straight-Grate Pellet Plant at its Integrated Steel Plant in Siltara, Raipur (Chhattisgarh). The project cost is budgeted at around Rs. 720 crores, to be financed via Rs. 540 crores in term debt and Rs. 180 crores through equity and internal accruals. The construction period is 24 months. Currently, the company operates a 1.5 MnTPA pellet plant running at ~90% capacity. The expansion aims to leverage iron ore from the company's captive mines. The project is subject to approval from existing lenders and financial closure.
This is a significant expansion doubling pellet-making capacity at a cost of Rs. 720 crore. If approved and executed, it could boost future revenues but will increase debt levels. Short-term, no material impact as the plant will only be operational after 2 years.
