Jindal Steel has commissioned its first Continuous Galvanizing Line (CGL 1) at its Angul Integrated Steel Complex in Odisha. The new line will produce galvanized and galvalume products under the brands Jindal Panther Galvanised and ZINKALUME, targeting industries like appliances, automotive, infrastructure, construction, and solar. It can process steel thicknesses from 0.15 mm to 1.50 mm and widths from 700 mm to 1400 mm. Chairman Naveen Jindal called it a milestone in delivering value-added steel products. Looking ahead, the company plans to add 6 MTPA of crude steel capacity at Angul this year, taking total capacity to 12 MTPA by end of 2025.
This is a positive development, signaling Jindal Steel's move up the value chain into higher-margin coated steel products. The capacity expansion to 12 MTPA also reinforces strong growth momentum, which could support long-term revenue and earnings growth for shareholders.
