JM Financial reported its highest-ever quarterly operating profit after tax of Rs. 454 crore for Q1FY26, a 166% jump from Rs. 171 crore in Q1FY25. Net revenue rose 22% year-on-year to Rs. 779 crore, while pre-provisioning operating profit also grew 22% to Rs. 389 crore. The company's consolidated net worth crossed the Rs. 10,000 crore mark (Rs. 10,174 crore), lifting book value per share to Rs. 106.4 from Rs. 90.1 a year ago. Debt-to-equity improved to 1.0x from 1.4x, with borrowings reduced by about Rs. 4,300 crore over the past year. Key business wins include the No. 1 position in equity capital markets with 10 marquee deals, a robust IPO pipeline of 45 transactions worth around Rs. 1 lakh crore, mutual fund AUM up 49% to Rs. 13,901 crore, and wealth AUM at Rs. 1.14 lakh crore. The firm also made JM Financial Credit Solutions a 100% subsidiary and brought in Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance as a 2.1% stakeholder in its home loans business at a Rs. 3,120 crore valuation.
Record profits, a stronger balance sheet, and rising AUM across wealth, mutual funds and home loans signal strong business momentum that should be positive for shareholder sentiment. The deleveraging, reduced real estate loan exposure and marquee investor validation for the home loans business further strengthen the long-term earnings and return-on-equity outlook.
