John Cockerill India filed its investor presentation for Q2CY25, showing a clear improvement in profitability despite range-bound revenue. Q2CY25 revenue stood at INR 821.2 Mn, up 7.4% QoQ but down 12% YoY, while EBITDA jumped to INR 19.3 Mn (margin 2.4%) from INR 5.8 Mn in Q2CY24. The company returned to profit with PAT of INR 17.2 Mn (margin 2.1%) versus a loss of INR 0.3 Mn a year ago. Order book as of June 30, 2025 is healthy at around INR 6.8 billion, giving strong revenue visibility. Chairman Francois-David Martino highlighted a constant improvement trajectory over the last four quarters driven by cost optimization, better operational efficiency and renewed focus on the Revamps, Spares & Services segment. The company also announced a new partnership with Belgium's Advanced Coatings SA for high-performance roll coating services in India, and is expanding its Taloja facility with 24 new assembly stations. Cash and equivalents nearly doubled to INR 1,237.8 Mn as of June 2025 from INR 625.3 Mn at end of CY24.
A return to profitability, strong order book of INR 6.8 billion and growing cash balance signal operational turnaround. Shareholders can expect improved earnings momentum backed by visible order pipeline and expanding high-margin Revamps, Spares & Services business, though revenue growth remains subdued and dependent on steel sector recovery.
