JSW Steel and Japan's JFE Steel Corporation have officially unveiled their 50:50 joint venture under the new name 'JSW JFE Steel Limited'. The JV encompasses integrated steel operations at Sambalpur, Odisha, formerly known as JSW Sambalpur Steel Ltd. The ceremony, attended by Odisha Chief Minister, Union Ministers, and Japanese Ambassador, also marked 15 years of the JSW-JFE strategic alliance that began in 2009. The facility produces hot-rolled coils, cold-rolled coils, and value-added products serving automotive, infrastructure, construction, and capital goods sectors. JSW Steel currently has consolidated crude steel capacity of 35.9 MTPA with plans to reach 43.9 MTPA in three years.
The rebranding of the JV with JFE strengthens JSW Steel's strategic positioning through access to world-class Japanese technology while maintaining operational scale.
