JSW Steel reported consolidated crude steel production of 21.18 lakh tonnes in April 2026, representing a 1% year-over-year decline from 21.40 lakh tonnes in April 2025. Indian operations produced 20.40 lakh tonnes (down 1%), while JSW Steel USA Ohio contributed 0.78 lakh tonnes (down 7%). Blast Furnace 3 at Vijayanagar is under shutdown for capacity upgradation, which impacted overall production. Excluding BF3 production from last year's base, production grew approximately 10% driven by full ramp-up of JVML operations. Capacity utilisation was around 94% excluding BF3 and 83% including BF3. The company also noted that Bhushan Power and Steel Limited's steel business was transferred to JSW-JFE Steel Limited (JV) in March 2026, with prior year figures adjusted accordingly.
The 1% YoY production decline reflects temporary disruption from the BF3 upgradation; however, underlying operations showed strong 10% growth excluding the furnace shutdown, suggesting solid operational performance once the upgradation completes.
