Jyothy Labs reported Q1 FY2026 (quarter ended June 30, 2025) revenue of ₹751 crore, up 1.4% year-on-year in value with a healthier 3.6% volume growth. Operating EBITDA margin came in at 16.5% (₹124.2 crore) versus 18% (₹133.6 crore) a year ago, reflecting cost pressures, while profit after tax dipped to ₹96.8 crore from ₹101.8 crore. Segment-wise, Fabric Care grew 3.3% led by liquid detergents, Personal Care rose 0.7% on the back of new soap 'Jovia', Dishwash was muted in value though Pril liquid posted double-digit growth, and Household Insecticides declined 9.7% due to weak coil sales. Urban general trade stayed soft, but modern trade and quick commerce continued double-digit growth, and management expects stronger momentum from Q3 aided by an above-normal monsoon and policy tailwinds.
Mixed quarter for shareholders — topline growth was modest and margins/profits slipped year-on-year, but underlying volume growth, traction in new launches, and improving macro cues point to a possible recovery in the second half. Stock may see limited near-term reaction given the margin contraction, with sentiment hinging on whether urban demand and input costs ease in coming quarters.
