Kabra Drugs reported a strong turnaround for Q2 FY26 with revenue from operations of ₹1,976.40 lakhs and net profit of ₹183.68 lakhs, compared to a loss of ₹39.67 lakhs in the year-ago quarter when revenue was nil. For the half year ended September 2025, total income stood at ₹2,710.88 lakhs with a net profit of ₹133.70 lakhs, against a loss of ₹94.24 lakhs in the same period last year. The balance sheet expanded sharply — total assets rose to ₹5,450.18 lakhs from ₹2,522.90 lakhs, driven by new inventories, trade receivables and trade payables, suggesting the company has just started active business operations. However, operating cash flow was deeply negative at ₹866.46 lakhs, and cash on hand fell from ₹2,129.93 lakhs to ₹1,160.99 lakhs. The auditor (PP Nand Company) issued an unmodified limited review report with no qualifications or emphasis of matter.
The sharp swing from losses to profitability and the first meaningful revenue base mark a significant business turnaround, likely to be viewed positively by the market. However, the negative operating cash flow and a large build-up of receivables and payables warrant close monitoring, as profitability is not yet translating into cash generation.
