Kajaria Ceramics reported consolidated revenue of ₹1,104 crores for Q1 FY26, down 1% YoY, due to soft market demand, weak tiles volume growth, and the closure of its plywood division. Despite the revenue dip, EBITDA rose 11% to ₹184.63 crores, with margins expanding sharply to 16.72% from 15.00% a year ago, driven by cost reduction and HR optimization. Profit after tax grew 21% YoY to ₹108.98 crores, and EPS rose to ₹6.84. The company also announced the closure of its loss-making UK operations, completed the acquisition of a 75% stake in Kajaria Adhesive (new tile adhesive plant operational from May 30, 2025), and continues to hold a net cash position of ₹515 crores.
Positive for shareholders: margin expansion and profit growth signal operational efficiency and disciplined cost management even in a soft demand environment, though flat revenue and the plywood/UK exits show the company is exiting non-core businesses to sharpen focus on tiles and bathware.
