Kakatiya Textiles, a cotton yarn maker, reported Q1 FY26 revenue of Rs 701 Lakhs, nearly tripling from Rs 237 Lakhs in the same quarter last year but well below the Rs 2,274 Lakhs posted in the preceding Q4 FY25. Despite the sharp top-line jump, the company slipped into a loss, posting a net loss of Rs 62 Lakhs versus a marginal Rs 5 Lakh loss in Q1 FY25. The result includes an exceptional gain of Rs 30 Lakhs from sale of old machinery. Loss before exceptional items and tax was Rs 92 Lakhs (vs Rs 5 Lakh loss YoY). Basic EPS turned more negative at Rs (1.59) compared to Rs (0.09) in Q1 FY25. Full-year FY25 ended 31.03.2025 remained profitable with PAT of Rs 133 Lakhs and EPS of Rs 2.31. Statutory auditors issued a clean limited review report.
Strong revenue growth signals improving order flow, but widening losses and negative EPS highlight cost pressures and weak margins — a mixed signal that may weigh on the stock in the short term despite higher turnover.
