Union Bank of India has issued revised sale notices (dated 09-10 January 2026) to Kallam Textiles Limited for e-auction of its Spinning Unit (at Chowdavaram, Guntur) and Hydel Unit (at Khammam, Telangana) on 30 January 2026 under the SARFAESI Act, after the company failed to clear dues. The earlier sale notice dated 05.01.2026 has been withdrawn. The total outstanding debt being recovered is Rs. 208.78 crore as on 31.12.2025. Reserve prices are set at Rs. 62.85 crore (Spinning Unit land & building), Rs. 64.63 crore (Spinning Unit plant & machinery), Rs. 5.09 crore (Hydel Unit land & building), and Rs. 4.52 crore (Hydel Unit plant & machinery). The bank had issued a demand notice in September 2024 and taken constructive possession of the assets. The company's Managing Director and Joint Managing Director are also named as personal borrowers/guarantors. The company has a pending case (SA No. 51/2025) at DRT Visakhapatnam.
This is a severe negative development for shareholders — the bank is moving to seize and auction the company's core manufacturing assets to recover over Rs. 208 crore in unpaid loans, raising serious doubts about the company's going-concern status. Stock is likely to face heavy selling pressure, and shareholders face significant risk of equity value erosion if the units are sold.
