Kalshi adds India to restricted list after prediction market ban

Kalshi Inc. has added India to its list of restricted jurisdictions in an updated member agreement dated June 17, prohibiting Indian users from trading event contracts on its platform. The move comes weeks after India's Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology warned that prediction market platforms were illegal and began blocking access. The restrictions are linked to India's Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025, which took effect on May 1 and seeks to curb online money gaming.
