Kansai Nerolac filed the transcript of its Q1 FY26 earnings call held on August 5, 2025, led by MD Pravin Chaudhari and CFO Yash Ahuja. Standalone revenue grew 1.8% but EBITDA fell 6.7% while PBT rose 4.1%; consolidated revenue was up 1.4% with EBITDA down 8% and PBT down 4.1%. Decorative volume was nearly flat, while industrial grew in higher single digits and the company gained market share in auto and protective coatings. Weakness was attributed to early monsoon hitting May sales, geopolitical tensions affecting North India (strong market for Nerolac), and ongoing Bangladesh troubles. Management guided FY26 EBITDA margin at 13-14% versus 12.8% last year and expects a better Q2 supported by an earlier Diwali, festive demand, and continued industrial outperformance.
Soft Q1 print, but management's explicit 13-14% margin guidance and expectations of a festive-season-led Q2 recovery could support sentiment, though decorative weakness and Bangladesh losses remain near-term drags.
