Kansai Nerolac Paints held an investor meet on 7th May 2025 to discuss its Q4 and FY 2024-25 results. Consolidated FY25 net revenue grew marginally by 0.3% to Rs 7,823 crore, while PBDIT fell 8.3% to Rs 942 crore with margins contracting to 12.0% from 13.2% YoY. Standalone PAT declined 13.7% to Rs 1,021 crore. The company maintained its dividend at 375% (including a 125% special dividend), the same as FY24. Capex jumped to Rs 349.6 crore in FY25 (vs Rs 237.2 crore in FY24), driven by project capex of Rs 174 crore, including the newly commissioned Vizag Phase 1 and ongoing Jainpur water-based capacity augmentation. The outlook highlighted continued rural demand momentum, growth in construction and passenger vehicle/2W segments, and a strong order pipeline in performance coatings.
Margin compression of ~80-120 bps and a decline in profits despite stable revenue signal cost pressure, which is a near-term negative for the stock. However, the maintained special dividend, higher capex for capacity expansion, and positive demand outlook provide some support for long-term growth.
