Kaveri Seed reported FY26 total revenues of Rs 1,303.77 crore, up 16.25% year-on-year. Non-cotton revenues grew strongly at 23.17% to Rs 1,060.18 crore, driven by maize (+40.17%), hybrid rice (+18.37%), and vegetables (+8.4%). However, cotton revenues declined 6.6% to Rs 243.59 crore due to illegal seed competition and higher production costs. Management flagged that higher cotton seed production costs adversely affected profitability margins. New cotton products contributed 30.05% of cotton sales vs 10.3% previously. Export revenues are expected to grow approximately 90% for FY2025-26. Q4 FY26 revenue was Rs 82.21 crore, up 6.8%, with cotton surging 453.1% on a low base while non-cotton fell 8.1%. Q1 FY27 outlook projects growth across cotton, rainy millet, hybrid rice, exports, and vegetables.
The company demonstrated strong non-cotton segment growth, but margin pressure from elevated cotton production costs is a concern. The shift to newer cotton hybrids and robust export momentum are positive signals for FY27.
