Kaveri Seed Company announced its unaudited Q1 FY26 results (quarter ended June 30, 2025). On a standalone basis, revenue from operations rose to Rs. 94,510.78 lakhs from Rs. 80,808.31 lakhs in Q1 FY25, while profit after tax surged to Rs. 28,290.74 lakhs from Rs. 2,520.11 lakhs, with basic EPS of Rs. 55.00. Consolidated revenue came in at Rs. 85,853.35 lakhs with PAT of Rs. 29,118.59 lakhs. The board approved the 38th AGM for September 23, 2025, with book closure from September 17 to 19, 2025. The board also appointed Dr. Madhushree Gundavaram and Dr. Govinda Rajulu Chintala as directors and re-appointed Dr. Rayappa Ramappa Hanchinal, along with M/s. L.D. Reddy & Co as Secretarial Auditors for five years. Importantly, the auditor flagged a material uncertainty about the going concern of one subsidiary, which has accumulated losses of Rs. 531.22 lakhs, negative net worth of Rs. 489.29 lakhs, and current liabilities exceeding current assets by Rs. 523.37 lakhs, with operations substantially curtailed.
The standalone results show a strong seasonal quarter with a massive jump in profitability, likely driven by the peak seed-selling season. However, investors should note the going concern flag on a subsidiary, though its operations appear curtailed and its revenue contribution is nil. New director additions bring agricultural finance and seed-industry expertise to the board.
