Kirloskar Oil Engines filed its Q1 FY26 investor presentation ahead of the August 7 conference call. Standalone net sales grew 8% year-on-year to ₹1,434 Cr, while EBITDA came in at ₹190.2 Cr with a 13.2% margin (versus 14.8% last year, which included a one-time reversal of an overdue receivable provision). PAT stood at ₹122.8 Cr, down 9% YoY, again distorted by the prior-year reversal. The net cash position strengthened notably to ₹639 Cr from ₹410 Cr a year ago. On the consolidated side, net sales rose 8% to ₹1,751 Cr, with PAT from continuing operations at ₹134.2 Cr (down 14% YoY). The B2B segment grew 9% YoY driven by demand revival in power generation, defence momentum, and the BS V transition in industrial engines, while B2C dipped 1%. Subsidiary Arka Fincap reported AUM of ₹7,231 Cr with an improving debt-to-equity ratio of 4.2x.
The YoY profit decline is largely an optical effect of last year's one-time reversal rather than a real deterioration, but underlying margins are slightly softer. Healthy B2B growth, a strong defence order book, and a robust cash pile are positives for shareholders, while B2C softness and Arka Fincap's still-elevated leverage warrant close monitoring.
