Kitex Garments, the world's second-largest infant and children's apparel maker, is bringing its US-based 'Little Star' brand to the Indian domestic market for the first time. The move is aimed at diversifying away from rising US tariffs on Indian textile imports and tapping into India's growing kidswear segment, which is projected to reach nearly INR 1,46,763 crores by 2030. Kitex is targeting INR 1,000 crores in annual revenue from the Little Star brand in India within 2 to 3 years. The brand will initially roll out through major e-commerce platforms before expanding to offline retail, starting with top cities.
This is a positive long-term growth signal for shareholders, as it opens a large new revenue stream in the domestic market and reduces dependence on US exports. Near-term stock impact may be limited until execution and revenue traction become visible, but the diversification strategy cushions against trade-related risks.
