Kitex Garments' Board approved standalone Q1 FY26 results showing revenue from operations of ₹19,669 lakhs (up ~3.3% YoY from ₹19,044 lakhs), but net profit fell to ₹2,605 lakhs from ₹2,995 lakhs, with EPS at ₹1.31 vs ₹1.50. Consolidated net profit dropped more sharply to ₹1,930 lakhs (vs ₹2,668 lakhs), weighed down by subsidiary losses. The auditor (MSKA & Associates) issued a qualified conclusion because the company could not substantiate recoverability of ₹2,776 lakhs investment and ₹11,817 lakhs trade receivables from its loss-making US associate, Kitex USA LLC, whose net worth is fully eroded. Separately, the Board cleared an enabling resolution to raise up to ₹3,000 crore via QIP, private placement or other modes, and proposed doubling authorized share capital from ₹25 crore to ₹50 crore, both subject to shareholder approval.
Profitability has softened despite modest top-line growth, and the auditor's qualification on the US associate's dues (nearly ₹146 crore exposure) is a key overhang. The proposed ₹3,000 crore fund raise is sizeable relative to the company's market cap and could lead to dilution, while the demerger of Kitex Childrenswear is also pending — shareholders should watch for dilution terms and updates on Kitex USA recoveries.
