KMEW, in consortium with its subsidiary KSPL (as lead), has won a ₹66.11 Crore work order (including taxes) from Inland Waterways Authority of India, a Government of India body. Scope: design, build, supply, test and commission 10 hybrid electric passenger ferries with 20-passenger capacity each. Construction in 10 months, followed by 60 months of maintenance and support. The order marks KSPL's first external commercial shipbuilding order and KMEW's strategic entry into India's green shipbuilding segment.
Adds ₹66.11 Cr to order book from a marquee government client. Management notes project uses less than 5 percent of shipyard capacity, limiting execution risk.
