Kobo Biotech Limited, currently under Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP), held its 10th meeting of the Committee of Creditors on June 4, 2025 in Mumbai. The CoC approved (with 99.12% voting share) the inclusion of a GST claim of Rs. 14,20,529 from the State Tax Officer, Maharashtra as an operational creditor (Government) in the list of creditors. The Resolution Professional was authorised to file an application before NCLT for inclusion of the claim and condonation of delay, with legal fees of Rs. 30,000 plus Rs. 5,000 towards out-of-pocket expenses treated as CIRP cost. The company was admitted into insolvency by the NCLT Hyderabad via order dated 17.01.2025 in C.P.(IB) 277/7/HDB/2023. Namrata Randeri continues to serve as the Resolution Professional.
Routine procedural update during ongoing insolvency; the addition of a small government claim (Rs. 14.2 lakh) slightly increases the creditor pool but is unlikely to materially affect the resolution timeline. Shareholders remain at risk as equity typically gets significantly diluted or written off in CIRP outcomes.
