Krebs Biochemicals reported weak Q1 FY26 results with revenue from operations falling sharply to Rs 548.09 lakhs from Rs 1,288.90 lakhs in the same quarter last year, a drop of about 57%. Total expenses of Rs 3,618.75 lakhs were far higher than income, leading to a net loss of Rs 532.43 lakhs (loss per share Rs 2.47), broadly in line with last year's loss. The Vizag manufacturing unit remains shut since February 7, 2025 following an Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board order, and the company's net worth is deeply negative at about Rs (14,624) lakhs as of March 31, 2025. On the leadership front, Mr. Jitendra Shah resigned as Managing Director and CEO for personal reasons, and Mr. Manish Kumar Jain, a Chartered Accountant with over 25 years of experience in strategic planning, finance and business development, has been appointed as Additional Director and Managing Director & CEO for a five-year term starting August 7, 2025, subject to shareholder approval. The Audit Committee and Stakeholders Relationship Committee have been reconstituted.
The sharp revenue fall, continued losses, negative net worth and an ongoing plant shutdown point to serious financial stress for shareholders, with the CEO change adding near-term uncertainty. New leadership with a finance and restructuring background could be seen as a positive for turning the company around, but results will depend on resolving the regulatory closure and improving operations.
