Krishana Phoschem has signed a 10-year Green Ammonia Purchase Agreement with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), a Government of India enterprise, under the National Green Hydrogen Mission. Under the deal, 70,000 metric tonnes of green ammonia per year will be supplied to the company at price parity with grey ammonia, with actual supply expected to begin three years after execution. There is no upfront payment involved, and the company estimates forex savings of approximately ₹3,700 crore over 10 years by replacing imported grey ammonia. The move is aimed at securing sustainable raw material supply for low-carbon fertilizer production and reducing dependence on imports.
Positive for shareholders — this long-term offtake agreement provides raw material security, cost predictability, and aligns the company with India's green energy push, potentially improving margins and ESG credentials over time.
