KIMS Hospitals filed its Q1 FY26 investor presentation showing consolidated revenue of Rs 879 Cr, up 26.8% year-on-year and 9.6% quarter-on-quarter, driven by 15.3% growth in in-patient volumes and 19.3% growth in out-patient volumes. However, EBITDA margin sharply compressed to 22.7% from 26.6% in Q1 FY25, with EBITDA at Rs 200 Cr (up just 8.5% YoY) and PAT declining 10.7% YoY to Rs 85 Cr. Average revenue per occupied bed (ARPOB) rose 11.8% YoY to Rs 43,011. The company added 300 beds at Thane in the quarter, taking total bed capacity to 5,499 across 18 hospitals, but newer Maharashtra and Kerala clusters remain loss-making with negative EBITDA margins of -7.8% and -6.9% respectively. The presentation outlines expansion plans for roughly 1,950 incremental beds with Rs 1,260-1,460 Cr of capex over the next few quarters.
Strong top-line growth from new hospital ramp-ups is being offset by margin pressure, as newer clusters in Maharashtra and Kerala are loss-making and dragging consolidated profitability. Shareholders may see continued near-term margin softness until these new facilities reach optimal occupancy, even as long-term capacity expansion supports future revenue growth.
