Kuantum Papers reported FY2026 audited results with total revenue of Rs 1,093.16 crore, broadly flat vs Rs 1,107.04 crore in FY2025. However, profit before tax dropped sharply to Rs 56.55 crore from Rs 155.38 crore (~64% decline), and net profit fell to Rs 41.95 crore from Rs 115.18 crore. EPS for the year stands at Rs 4.81 (restated). The Board recommended a dividend of Rs 2.50 per share (250% on face value of Re. 1), totaling Rs 21.82 crore, subject to shareholder approval at the 29th AGM on 27 August 2026. The record date for dividend and voting is 20 August 2026. Key director re-appointments include Vice Chairman & Managing Director Pavan Khaitan (for 3 years from April 2027) and Chairman Jagesh Kumar Khaitan (retiring by rotation), both pending AGM approval. The company clarified it is 'Not a Large Corporate' under SEBI's debt fundraising framework. Long-term borrowings increased to Rs 589.70 crore from Rs 402.73 crore.
The sharp decline in profitability (net profit down ~64%) despite flat revenue is a concern and may weigh on the stock. However, the maintained dividend and upcoming AGM could provide some support. Shareholders should note the record date of 20 August 2026 for dividend entitlement.
