Lakshmi Electrical Control Systems Ltd published notices in Financial Express (English) and Dinamalar (Tamil) on June 12, 2025, informing shareholders about a proposed transfer of shares to the Investor Education and Protection Fund (IEPF) Authority. Under IEPF Rules 2016, any shares where dividends have remained unclaimed for 7 consecutive years (from FY 2017-18 onwards) must be transferred to the IEPF Authority's demat account. The company has already sent individual notices to affected shareholders at their latest available addresses, and the full list of shareholders with their folio and demat details is available on www.lecsindia.com. Shareholders who wish to retain their shares must act quickly by claiming their unclaimed dividends through the company's Registrar, MUFG Intime India Pvt Ltd, before the transfer takes place. Once shares are moved to IEPF, recovery requires a separate application in Form IEPF-5 via the IEPF website (www.iepf.gov.in).
Shareholders who have not claimed dividends since FY 2017-18 risk having their shares permanently transferred to the IEPF Authority. Affected investors should immediately contact the Registrar (MUFG Intime India) to claim pending dividends and prevent the transfer, or file IEPF-5 later if the shares have already moved.
