L&T's Heavy Engineering division has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with US-based Holtec International's Asia arm to offer design and build solutions for Heat Transfer Equipment used in nuclear and thermal power plants worldwide. This builds on L&T's existing partnership with Holtec for global deployment of the SMR-300 Small Modular Reactor, which is supported by the prestigious 810 Authorisation granted to L&T by the US Department of Energy. The collaboration aims to combine L&T's nuclear manufacturing capabilities with Holtec's design expertise to improve thermal regulation, cycle efficiency, and reliability of power plants, contributing to the global energy transition. L&T noted that over 32 countries have committed to tripling their nuclear power capacity post-COVID, making energy security a strategic priority.
