Laurus Labs reported Q1 FY2026 revenues of ₹1,570 crore, up 31% year-on-year, driven by strong CDMO growth of 103% YoY to ₹522 crore and small molecules business jumping 130% YoY. EBITDA came in at ₹389 crore with margins improving sharply to 24.8% from 14.3% a year ago, helped by better product mix and operating leverage. Net profit surged 1,154% YoY to ₹163 crore. The company has over 110 active CDMO pipeline projects and continued heavy capex of ₹265 crore in the quarter (17% of revenues), with total FY22-26 capex pegged at ~₹3,400 crore including new Gene/ADC and microbial fermentation facilities. Management noted asset turnovers are projected to return to normalized levels over the next two years as new capacities ramp up.
Strong YoY growth and a sharp jump in margins signal improving business momentum, especially in the high-value CDMO segment which is now 33% of revenues. Positive for shareholder sentiment, though the 9% sequential revenue decline and ongoing heavy capex spending warrant monitoring.
