Laxmi Organic Industries submitted its Q1 FY26 investor presentation. Consolidated revenue fell 4% YoY to ₹7,182 Mn, while PAT dropped 38% to ₹214 Mn. Gross margins contracted sharply by 470 basis points to 30.8% and adjusted EBITDA margin fell 430 bps to 5.6%, hit by bearish acetic acid prices, subdued ethyl acetate spreads, phase-out of an agrochemical intermediate, and deferred customer deliveries. Volumes still grew 8% YoY. The Specialties segment saw revenue dip 18% to ₹2,071 Mn, while Essentials grew 4% to ₹4,858 Mn. Management outlined FY28 targets of ~2x revenue (₹~57,300 Mn), ~2.7x EBITDA (₹~7,665 Mn), and 20% ROCE, backed by a ~₹11,000 Mn capex plan. The Lote fluorospecialties plant is ramping up toward 40-60% of peak revenues in FY26, and a Hitachi Energy contract for an eco-efficient gas is expected in Q2FY26.
Negative near-term: sharp YoY margin compression and profit decline will likely weigh on the stock, but the FY28 growth roadmap, brownfield expansion at Dahej and Lote, and diversification into fluorospecialties and Hitachi contract provide a longer-term growth story for patient investors.
