Libas Consumer Products' board approved its Q1 FY26 (quarter ended June 30, 2025) unaudited results, reporting a standalone net loss of ₹208.90 lakhs versus a profit of ₹24.37 lakhs in the same quarter last year, mainly because of a ₹240 lakh exceptional loss from a fire at its Cumballa Hill store on May 4, 2025 (an insurance claim has been filed). Revenue from operations rose to ₹1,174.06 lakhs from ₹953.07 lakhs YoY. On a consolidated basis, the company swung to a ₹164.56 lakh net loss from a ₹165.66 lakh profit, with revenue slipping slightly to ₹1,820.34 lakhs. Two independent directors (Bhumisha Dadwani and Kalpana Kumari) resigned and were replaced by D.U. Menon and Supriya Ramdas, statutory auditor Choudhary Choudhary & Co also resigned, and J.N. Mittal & Co was appointed in their place. The 21st AGM is set for September 29, 2025.
The Q1 loss is driven largely by the one-time fire-related charge, but the auditor has flagged serious concerns — inventory is overstated by about ₹700.84 lakhs due to obsolete stock and ₹1,072.89 lakhs of interest income on loans has not been booked, suggesting underlying profitability is weaker than headline numbers indicate. Combined with multiple tax defaults, an arbitration order of ₹1.48 crore challenged in Bombay HC, and an NCLT case filed by the Managing Director herself, shareholders should view this as a governance-heavy announcement that could weigh on sentiment despite the insurance recovery angle.
