Linc Limited filed the transcript of its Q1 FY26 earnings call held on August 11, 2025. Revenue grew 5.3% year-on-year, driven by the Linc brand portfolio, allied stationery products, and strong e-commerce and corporate channels. However, profit after tax declined 16.4% YoY to Rs. 705 lakhs (PAT margin of 5.1%) due to a 12-14% depreciation of the rupee against the Japanese Yen (since Uniball contributes ~16% of sales) and a higher share of traded goods. Operating EBITDA margin stood at 9.6%. The company highlighted strategic expansion through three joint ventures: the Uniball JV with Mitsubishi Pencil (trial run from September, rollout from October 2025), the Morris JV (Korea, linked to the West Bengal facility commissioning in Q4 FY26), and the Turkey JV (commercial production already started, strong order book). The company plans to expand into markers, highlighters, pencils, and crayons, taking the addressable market from Rs. 6,600 crores to ~Rs. 38,000 crores. US exports (8-10% of exports, ~2% of total revenue) are currently on hold due to tariffs.
Mixed near-term picture: steady top-line growth but margin pressure from currency headwinds and product mix. Multiple growth catalysts lined up (JV rollouts, premiumization, export expansion) could support recovery in coming quarters. Management declined to provide full-year guidance, preferring to wait another quarter.
