Lloyds Enterprises will invest Rs 140 crore to acquire a 50% partnership interest in Prakar Estate and Promoter LLP, which holds a 63.17% majority stake in Geomysore Services India Pvt Ltd (GMSI). This gives Lloyds an indirect 31.58% ownership in GMSI, the company behind the Jonnagiri Gold Mine Project in Andhra Pradesh — the first gold mine started in independent India. The project has a processing capacity of 1,000 tonnes per day, ~13.1 tonnes of JORC-certified gold resources (with potential upside to 42.5 tonnes), and is nearing commercial production this quarter. GMSI is projected to generate peak revenue of ~Rs 950 crore annually and EBITDA of ~Rs 700 crore.
This is a significant strategic diversification move into gold mining, which could materially reshape the company's revenue and earnings profile once the mine is fully operational. Shareholders should view this as a high-potential, long-term value creation opportunity, though execution depends on the mine achieving its projected production and financial targets.
